New Tomás Sánchez Inner Love print launches January 18
The recent collaboration between Cuban artist Tomás Sánchez and editions purveyor Avant Arte has introduced the new Tomás Sánchez Inner Love print. The intricate landscapes by Sánchez are influenced by nature, yet they also depict a setting more akin to a surrealist utopia.
Sánchez, who splits his time between Miami and Costa Rica, uses his artistic endeavors to protect the environment’s ever-changing landscape. The surrounding rivers and forests around his Costa Rican studio served as a major source of inspiration for the work.
“I believe that Inner Love is a painting that can transmit to others the same peace that it transmits to me and, today, it is invaluable to receive a bit of peace,” said Sánchez.
As the art’s description reads, “Inner Love places its cross-legged subject on a mirage-like island, mirrored perfectly in the water that surrounds it. As with many of the artist’s landscapes, the scene is inspired by verdant forests and tranquil rivers close to his studio in Costa Rica. For Sánchez, the artwork provides space for a moment of self-reflection.”
Regarded as one of the best artists from Cuba, Sánchez just had one of his largest performances in 2022 which showcased his 50 year career. Yes, you read that right, that’s five decades!
The 24-hour time-limited Tomás Sánchez Inner Love print, which was done with acrylic on linen, will go on sale on January 18 at 8 p.m. PT. Inner Love is a UV pigment print with a matte silkscreen varnish coating on 410gsm Somerset TS Radiant White paper. It is available unframed for $503 and in a black frame for $805.
