Limited Edition Analogue Pocket Transparent Edition Revealed

The retro-inspired Analogue Pocket Transparent Edition launches September 29

Paying homage to the clear Nintendo Game Boy units from the late 1980s, the new limited edition Analogue Pocket Transparent Edition has been announced. The lovely handheld will be debuting in a wide array of clear tinted colorways which include blue, green, orange, purple, red, and smoke.

Just like the previous Pocket variants, the upcoming Analogue Pocket Transparent Edition shares the same functionalities and is able to play Game Boy and Game Boy Advance cartridges. It’s also capable of using any of the accessories that were designed for the original Game Boy.

Main features are the square screen, a D-pad, a start and select button, and two face buttons. It also has two additional shoulder buttons at the rear that are helpful for playing Game Boy Advance games. Did we mention the illuminated display? Yes, the 3.5-inch, 615 pixels per inch LCD screen boasts a 160x1440p resolution that will make retro handheld gaming a beautiful, modernized experience.

With 10 hours of gameplay on a single charge, the Pocket’s battery is sufficient enough for the daily or weekly commute. It even features its own speaker system along with a USB-C charging port as well as a 3.5mm audio port. Similar to the release of the brand’s glow-in-the-dark version of the Pocket, Analogue states that the transparent edition will only be available in “limited quantities.”

Listed at $249, which is a little more than the $219 base model, the Analogue Pocket Transparent Edition goes on sale on the company’s website on September 29 at 8 AM PT. It is expected that units would begin shipping in two weeks.
