Looks like we’ll be playing more games in Saw X
The official Saw X trailer for the upcoming American horror movie is here and celebrates the tenth installment of the film series. The tenth Saw movie features a secret plot we know absolutely nothing about as of yet, but Tobin Bell’s return as Jigsaw, the serial killer kidnapper, has been teased for quite some time now.
We apologize in advance for the spoilers (but it’s been nearly 20 years). The original actor for Jigsaw in Saw (2004) died in the conclusion of Saw 3. Even so, Bell agreed to appear in a number of the sequels, playing the role in flashbacks as the series twisted itself into one of the most confusing timelines in cinema. Lionsgate confirmed Bell’s return in a statement from last October:
“The return of Tobin Bell to the franchise furthers Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ goal of a film that captures everything ‘Saw’ fans love about the franchise, while also keeping them guessing with all-new traps and a new mystery to solve.”
Saw X comes two years following the ninth installment and stars Shawnee Smith as Amanda Young as well as Steven Brand, Synnøve Macody Lund, Michael Beach, Renata Vaca, Paulette Hernandez, Octavio Hinojosa and Joshua Okamoto.
Kevin Greutert, who directed Saw VI (2009) and Saw: The Final Chapter (2010) and worked as editor on the first five films and Jigsaw (2017), will make a comeback appearance in the franchise’s tenth Saw movie. It will be written by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, and the executive producers are Daniel J. Heffner, Ketura Kestin, and James Wan.
Releasing in theaters this September 27, try not to blink when watching the official Saw X trailer.
