Celebrate the upcoming film’s release with the Nike Barbie Dunk
An all-pink Nike Barbie Dunk has been introduced in celebration for the premiere for the upcoming Barbie film by Greta Gerwig. While this isn’t an official collaboration with the film or the Mattel toy company, the shoe looks to be the ideal colorway and nails it right on the dot in terms of materials and aesthetics.
Stars appear at the midfoot of the Nike Barbie Dunk on a washed pink suede base. Hot pink leather overlays also draw attention, but not as much as the lace charms. A unique “N” lace charm with a script font appears on both the left and right shoes, connecting the overall theme.
The Nike Dunk Low Barbie also features a cursive-style font that appears on the shoe’s tongue. In keeping with this design, the thematic tongue logo has stars as a background. The heel-tab and the swoosh are both a darker brown color with a glittering finish. The suede mid-panel and tongue logo both have a starry pattern, and the plush interior is lined with a sophisticated pink texture.
A sail midsole and a pink, partially recycled, semi-transparent outsole with stars complete the look, matching the tongue. The overall presentation matches the theme of the shoe and is contained in a pink box with a star graphic on the lid.
Unfortunately, no release details have been announced as of this writing except that it’s slated for the Fall 2023 season and will become available at select retailers both online and in-store. In the upcoming weeks, Nike and a few select shops are expected to debut this Dunk Low along with additional sneakers.
