Kraven The Hunter Will Be The First R-Rated Marvel Film

Don’t dare to skip the Kraven the Hunter red band trailer below

Marvel and Sony Pictures have unleashed the gruesome red band trailer for Kraven the Hunter, the very first R-rated marvel film to date. Kraven is one of Spider-Man’s villains and now gets his own stage, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Russell Crowe plays Sergei’s father in the Kraven the Hunter film, which also stars Fred Hechinger as Dmitri Smerdyakov, another antagonist with the moniker Chameleon. Sergei’s family abandoned Karven to perish after he had previously been attacked by a lion. But once a lion’s blood splashes into an open wound, he instead develops superpowers.

As the first R-rated Marvel film, the red band trailer doesn’t hold back at all and showcases brutal clips of Kraven, significantly one where he bites the nose off of an enemy.

Kraven the Hunter is a Marvel movie grounded heavily in the real world,” said Taylor-Johnson at this year’s CinemaCon. “And anyone who is familiar with the comics and the character of Kraven, they know that he’s a fierce hunter with the skill of a highly trained killer. So, I figure now’s a good time to answer the Internet’s biggest question about the film. Will it be rated R? F-yes it’s going to be rated R.”

Directed by J.C Chandor, Taylor-Johnson and Crowe will be accompanied by Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, and Christopher Abbott. The film was initially set to premiere this year on October 6, but then got delayed. The film will now be theatrically released in the United States on August 30, 2024.
