The Heart of Stone Netflix movie will release on August 11
In one of the most anticipated movies to come from Netflix’s Tudum event, the Heart of Stone Netflix spy thriller has unveiled their first official trailer. The film will be the debut Hollywood movie for award winning British actress Alia Bhatt who has starred in numerous Hindi films since 2012.
Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan are introduced in the nearly two-and-a-half minute Heart of Stone Netflix teaser as the “most highly trained” members of a Charter who are not allowed to have any friends, relationships, political allegiances, or other social connections. When governments fall apart, they are meant to cooperate to maintain peace around the world.
The sacrifices required to uphold the mission of the Charter are emphasized in the trailer by Rachel Stone, played by Gal Gadot. “You know what you signed up for,” Sophie Okonedo’s character tells Stone. “No friends, no relationships. What we do is too important. When governments fail, the only thing left is the Charter.”
This power of the Charter comes from a “heart,” but it is stolen and later discovered in Alia’s possession. Although the actress isn’t seen performing any action scenes in the teaser, it is clear that she has the ability to bring the Charter down.
Directed by Tom Harper, the Heart of Stone Netflix spy thriller is the first installment of a series modeled after Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible. Sophie Okonedo, Matthias Schweighofer, Jing Lusi, and Paul Ready are also featured in the film.
“If you own the Heart, you own the world,” says hacker Keya Dhawan, played by Bhatt. Stone must attempt to secure the Heart and maintain her reputation.
