The first Borderlands official trailer is finally here
Are you ready for the very first Borderlands official trailer? Kevin Hart, Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana Greenbalt, Florian Munteanu, and Jack Black have teamed up as the Vault Hunters for the film adaptation of the critically acclaimed action role-playing video game series.
After its first announcement back in 2015, the first Borderlands official trailer has at last arrived.almost a decade later. Hart will play the character Roland, Blanchett as Lilith, Lee Curtis as Tannis, Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Munteanu as Krieg, Black as the hilarious voice of the beloved Borderlands robot, Claptrap.
This new Borderlands film is directed by Eli Roth, who has worked on Hostel, Inglorious Bastards, and most recently, Thanksgiving (2023). While the Borderlands movie stands outside of the events in the games, its plot is genuine to the concepts from the video game series.
Lilith, a wanted person from the planet Pandora, returns to her homeworld in pursuit of a mythical vault said to be packed with priceless treasures. Lilith is familiar with Pandora, but she also understands that going on a team search is her greatest chance of discovering the vault. Lilith has little in common with the rest of the Vault Hunters, however she can enlist them as a strong enough team to accompany her in her quest for fame.
As seen in the first Borderlands official trailer, Roth managed to imitate the Borderlands games’ distinctive cel-shaded aesthetic along with the series’ gritty sense of humor.
The Lionsgate Borderlands film is scheduled to premiere in theaters this summer on August 9. Watch the full trailer below!
