Persona 5 Tactica Trailer Showcases Turn-Based Tactical Fun

Slated for a November 17, 2023 release, Persona 5 Tactica is almost here

Persona 5 Tactica is ATLUS’ latest spinoff title featuring the animated cast of characters from the amazing Persona 5 game. The Phantom Thieves will now take on a chibi-sized adventure in turn-based tactics.

In P5 Tactica, the game takes place during Persona 5’s events. The Phantom Thieves are transported to a Metaverse with a French Revolution theme called The Kingdoms where they run across a new adversarial force known as the Legionnaires, led by a woman by the name of Marie.

Aside from the protagonist Joker and talking cat Morgana, all of the group members have been brainwashed. Joker and Morgana are saved by the Rebel Corps and their leader Erina, and the goal is to rescue the rest of the Phantom Thieves gang and uncover the mystery of the alternate universe.

Persona 5 Tactica is a combat-focused role-playing game with turn-based combat, grid-based maps, and a maximum party size of three characters. The use of firearms, melee strikes, placement, and cover is a key component of the game’s strategy, as are other Persona RPG staples like elemental weaknesses and the ‘Press Turn’ system.

The ability to swap between characters throughout each turn allows the player to move freely within the character’s range, plan attacks, and then carry them out when the turn is over. Triple Threat strikes, in which you arrange your three characters to form a triangle and deal damage to any foes inside it, are another example of all-out assaults which are making a comeback in P5 Tactica.

Scheduled to release on all gaming platforms this year on November 17, Persona 5 Tactica will also launch on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service for all pass holders.
