Diablo 2: Resurrected Open Beta Is Available Today, August 20
The Diablo 2: Resurrected open beta is available! Starting today Friday, August 20 at 10 a.m. PDT to everyone on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Last week, the early access multiplayer beta for D2R was only limited to those pre-ordered the remaster of the 2000 dungeon crawler. Sorry Nintendo Switch owners, you’ll have to wait for the launch to play.
Players can check out the cross-progression support on all Diablo 2: Resurrected open beta versions. Just like the early access beta, five classes will be available to try out: Amazon, Barbarian, Paladin, Sorceress, and Druid. Only the first two acts, Act I and Act II, will be available, but there will be no level cap set, giving you the freedom to experiment with multiple character builds.
If you’ve already played the early access beta, your progress will be carried over to the open beta weekend. That progress, however, will not be carried over to the official launch of Diablo 2: Resurrected on September 23rd. The Open Beta weekend will last until August 23 at 10:00 a.m. (PDT). This will enable Blizzard to receive the correct amount of gameplay feedback and performance data.
Some of the biggest features for Diablo 2: Resurrected are the remastered graphics and being able to toggle back to the original graphics with a press of a button. Revamped ladder season, a redesigned user interface, as well as an expanded stash are also some key additions to the game.
No more mules required! Diablo 2: Resurrected releases on September 23 for all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch.
As stated by Blizzard, “All players are allowed to capture, record, or stream the game throughout the Open Beta.” Either you want to start off with the Frozen Orb Sorceress or the Hammerdin Paladin, feel free to show off your favorite build with a livestream. See you this weekend at the gates of hell in Diablo 2: Resurrected Open Beta.
