Armored Core VI Fires Of Rubicon Launches Today

Gear up for the Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon launch day

FromSoftware’s Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon launch is finally here and the game has gone live across all platforms simultaneously on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The third-person action game allows the player to build and control a mech around fast-paced levels.

It may come as a surprise to some that the Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon launch is the series’ first game in over 11 years. The fifth installment released back in 2012 so it’s been quite some time since gamers have been able to experience what it’s like to cruise on a mech for a number of console generations.

As FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki stated, building and piloting the mechs in ACVI will be the core experience, but the “boss battles are the highlight of the game”. The game will also feature a “mission-based structure to the single-player”.

Players shouldn’t enter this game anticipating a sequel to FromSoftware’s recent Elden Ring, which won praise for its innovative approach to open-world design. Instead, the sixth installment of Armored Core will reexamine what is cherished about the Armored Core brand and to provide what wasn’t previously available for the franchise, which should be overwhelmingly reassuring to fans of the franchise.

According to the game’s website, the game takes place on the remote planet of Rubicon 3, a new location where a “mysterious new substance was discovered”. It offered technological advancements to humanity, but the substance ended up turning Rubicon 3 into a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Playing as a mercenary, the player will invade Rubicon as a solo agent to take the substance before others get the opportunity to snag it away. Are you ready for the Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon launch day to take on the challenge?
