The Air Flight Huarache OG returns next year in April
Scheduled for an April 2023 release, the Air Flight Huarache OG returns in its original colorway of White, Varsity Purple, Royal Blue, and Menta. Known to be one of Nike’s most memorable basketball sneakers ever made, the 1990s classic makes another return nine years following its retro release back in 2014.
Designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield and Eric Avar, the Air Flight Huarache OG returns with all the meticulous details from the original 1992 silhouette including the cut-out collar and the Huarache bootie. Back then, the two designers transformed the sock build of Hatfield’s Air Huarache into a basketball shoe.
The Air Flight Huarache OG features an all-white leather upper with a neoprene inner bootie in Varsity Purple and Royal Blue along with a molded heel cage in black that surrounds the open ankle. Also included is the Nike Air unit for cushioning.
The Michigan Wolverines’ “Fab Five” team of Jalen Rose, Chris Webber, Ray Jackson, Jimmy King, and Juwan Howard made the shoe popular on the bball court as well as off the court in streetwear culture. NBA players such as Scottie Pippen, Reggie Miller, and even Kobe Bryant have also worn the shoes in-game.
When the Air Flight Huarache OG returns in April 2023, it will retail for $125 at Nike.com and select retailers.
