The New Balance Kawhi II Goosebumps take inspiration from the superstar’s favorite childhood book
Set to release April 22, the New Balance Kawhi II Goosebumps are Kawhi Leonard’s second colorway for his new silhouette. This version of Kawhi’s trademark shoe is inspired by R.L. Stein’s Goosebumps, which was his favorite book series as a kid.
The mid-cut New Balance Kawhi II Goosebumps sneakers feature a black-based upper with slime-green and orange accents. Additionally, the sneaker features haunting graphics that reference key scenes from the book series. Even the tongue brand spells out “Kawhi” in the Goosebumps typeface.
“One of the most exciting things about working with the New Balance design team is that they give me creative freedom,” said Leonard about his New Balance Kawhi II Goosebumps. “Goosebumps was one of my favorite books growing up, so to see that on my own shoe is awesome. I can’t wait to see people in this shoe.”
To add to the eerie vibe, the lateral heels have dead tree images with pumpkin orange notes found in the front and rear areas of the midsoles and heel stripes. At a retail price of $160, the Kawhi II Goosebumps will launch exclusively at Footlocker.com, as well as Foot Locker and Champs Sports locations.
