Watch the Alan Wake II gameplay trailer below!

Remedy Entertainment has finally showcased the new Alan Wake II gameplay trailer at their live keynote from this year’s Summer Games Fest. It’s been 13 years since the launch of the original Alan Wake back in 2010, so the long-awaited sequel has been a grueling wait for survival horror fans.

As we take a look into the two-minute long Alan Wake II gameplay trailer, we can spot some hidden details that Remedy has dropped for us. Fans may notice that the trailer is narrated by Alan Wake himself, as he talks about why the FBI has entered Bright Falls following the first installment.

The original game’s spooky setting in the Pacific Northwest and weird plot won it praise from the gaming community and helped it develop a cult following. Wake has returned in a fresh adventure that’s just as eerie as the previous one.

Thomas Puha, the director of communications at Remedy Entertainment, provided some details about the upcoming horror survival game on the PlayStation Blog. Despite being marketed as a follow-up to the studio’s first Alan Wake game, Puha noted those who missed either the original or the 2021 remastered edition don’t need to worry about knowing everything that happened.

“It was important for us to create an approachable experience for new players without forgetting our long-standing fans,” said Puha. “Another key pillar for us was ensuring that we respect fundamental survival horror principles: make the gameplay challenging for experienced players yet easy enough to navigate for those who want to focus on enjoying the game’s rich, layered story.”

Without spoiling too much of the Alan Wake II gameplay trailer, take a look for yourself! The game will exclusively launch as a digital-only game across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 17.
