Yoshitaka Amano Batman Artwork Featured In Future Detective Comics Cover

If Batman traversed into Final Fantasy, the Yoshitaka Amano Batman artwork visualizes it

Yoshitaka Amano Batman artwork will be featured on a future issue of DC Comics’ Detective Comics cover. For those who don’t already know, Amano is a Japanese visual artist known for his work in the 1960s anime Speed Racer, along with his illustrations for the Final Fantasy video game franchise.

According to the company’s August 2022 catalog, a future DC Comics issue will include a cover by legendary Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano. When Detective Comics #1093 reaches comic book stores in August, the cover will feature Yoshitaka Amano Batman artwork that depicts Batman cradling a lady who many think to be the love interest and antagonist, Talia al Ghul, daughter of Ra’s al Ghul.

The solicitation notes from DC Comics states that dealers must buy 25 copies of the standard cover to acquire a single Amano variation of the Detective Comics cover. Here’s what DC Comics had to say about the latest issue:

Old friends Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent share a moment together asking: At what point does Gotham not need a Batman anymore? As Batman’s investigation around Gotham leads him to encounter more and more demonic beings, the one thing they all have in common is they’re all people he fights to keep off the streets and behind bars. But when Two-Face appears asking Batman for help, is he friend or foe? And is whatever’s going on with Batman already too late to do anything about? Is he the detective or the devil?
