The Wednesday official trailer has dropped
Just revealed at last weekend’s New York Comic Con was the Netflix Wednesday official trailer, featuring a starred cast consisting of Jenna Ortega, Christina Ricci, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and more. The comedy horror series is expected to launch on Netflix on November 23.
Based on the character Wednesday Addams by Charles Addams, the new Addams Family spin-off is created by Alfred Gough and Miles Miller, and directed by gothic film legend Tim Burton. Ortega stars as the main character Wednesday while the rest of the highly acclaimed cast will fill the show’s supporting roles.
Netflix has also teased Christina Ricci’s role in the forthcoming series, as Ricci starred as the original Wednesday in The Addams Family films from 1991 and 1993. Since the announcement in March, Ricci’s return to the franchise has been kept a secret; however the Wednesday official trailer has now offered viewers a look of her character.
Wednesday follows the teenage character Wednesday Addams as she enrolls Nevermore Academy located in Jericho, New York. A number of gruesome murders terrorizes Jericho, and Wednesday has to adjust to Nevermore as she learns to control her psychic powers while investigating a 25-year-old murder mystery that involved her parents.
The upcoming comedy horror Netflix original series is written by Gough, Miller, Kayla Alpert, April Blair, and Matt Lambert, while executive produced by Burton, Alpert, Gough, Millar, Gail Berman, Steve Stark, Jonathan Glickman, and Andrew Mittman. Along with Ortega on the bill, Zeta-Jones stars as Morticia, Ricci as Marilyn Thornhill, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, and Gwendoline Christie as Principal Larissa Weems,
