The MultiVersus Open Beta Is Now Live

Here’s how to get into the MultiVersus open beta

Starting today, the MultiVersus open beta is now available to the public in North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. All game progression received in the open beta will carry over to the full release of MultiVersus on launch. That means no time wasted!

The new 2D/3D smash-like brawler by Warner Bros. and Player First Games is very similar to their Nintendo cousin. Players will face-off against each other on a platform and try to inflict as much damage on their opponents as possible until they fly away or fall off. There are 1v1 battles, 2v2 team battles, and free-for-all modes with up to four players fighting simultaneously.

Just like the upcoming full release for the WB fighting game, the MultiVersus open beta is free-to-play across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Player First Games has confirmed that there’s also cross-platform play and progression, meaning your data will be on cloud and can be accessed across any platform.

Although 17 characters are available upon the launch of the MultiVersus open beta, it appears that only 5 of them will be initially accessible for free players. From July 26 through August 8, players may select Finn, Garnet, Reindog, and Superman. Players will also receive Wonder Woman for passing the tutorials.

Other characters include Arya Stark, Batman, Bugs Bunny, Harley Quinn, Iron Giant, Jake, Shaggy, Steven Universe, Taz, Tom & Jerry, and Velma. They will have to be unlocked using in-game currencies of either 700 Gleamium, or Multiversus premium currency, which will cost around $7.

There’s also a new challenger announced for the new WB fighting game. The LeBron James MultiVersus character was just revealed this past weekend at SDCC 2022. For those who missed out on the trailer, check out the clip below!
