Don’t pass up on the Air official trailer
Tie up those laces cause we’ve got the first look at the Air official trailer. The new film starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon highlights the business risk Nike made to add his airness, Michael Jordan, to the American sneaker and sportswear company.
Directed by Ben Affleck, he plays the role of Nike co-founder Phil Knight, while Damon plays Nike marketing executive Sonny Vaccaro, the one who persuaded Jordan to sign a deal with the Big Swoosh. Other cast members in the Air movie include Jason Bateman as Rob Strasser, Chris Tucker as Howard White, Viola Davis as Deloris Jordan, Matthew Maher as Peter Moore, Chris Messina as David Falk, Julius Tennon as James Jordan, Gustaf Skarsgard as Horst Dassler, and Marlon Wayans as George Raveling.
As we all know, Nike truly revolutionized the sports world and culture with the introduction of the Air Jordan brand.
According to the Air movie’s logline, “This moving story follows the career-defining gamble of an unconventional team with everything on the line, the uncompromising vision of a mother who knows the worth of her son’s immense talent, and the basketball phenom who would become the greatest of all time.”
The Air official trailer features tidbits about Knight’s hesitation on hiring Jordan, who was a rookie at the time. Also shown are Vaccaro’s tenacious efforts to persuade his business along with Jordan’s parents that the deal would be a success. Even the first Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago” colorway is showcased.
Air will make its premiere across the United States on April 5 on over 3,000 theater screens before becoming available for streaming across 240 nations. Watch the Air official trailer below.
