Nike’s Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse AJ1 sneakers launch on May 20
Just in time for the movie’s launch next month, the Nike Across The Spider-Verse AJ1 will be released at the end of May in celebration of the spidey sequel. JOfficially named the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”, the sneaker expresses a take on the classic “Chicago” colorway with a comic book-inspired aesthetic. The Jordan Brand has once again created a great colorway in collaboration with Marvel.
The “University Red/Black/White” uppers feature graphics and tones that replicate the animation style of the Miles Morales Spider-Man films. The clean white upper bases are accented by dynamic red panels and black patent leather at the ankles and Swooshes.
There are additional detailing on the Across The Spider-Verse AJ1, arriving in the form of Wings motifs at the ankle, tongue tags with “NIKE AIR” labeling, as well as printed insoles. White midsoles and translucent red rubber outsoles complete the silhouette’s themed design.
Even while there is a hint of familiarity to other AJ1 High OGs, the paneling on the shoe takes a turn as it combines both leather and suede, almost like a multiverse of materials. The eyestays and ankle flaps feature a graphic appearance that seems to have been plucked right from a Spider-Man comic book, while the Swoosh has a delicate iridescent finish.
