The Scream VI official trailer has finally arrived
Paramount Pictures has launched the new Scream VI official trailer, and by the looks of it, it seems to be another slasher sequel worth checking out. The sixth installment of the Scream franchise is set in New York and follows the remaining four survivors of Ghostface, the film’s bloodthirsty antagonist.
In the Scream VI official trailer, viewers get a quick glimpse of Panettiere who is repeating her role as Kirby from Scream IV, and the only survivor left from the violent Woodsboro killings. Kirby also made an appearance in Scream V. Other returning cast members include Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Jack Champion Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato.
“I have a secret,” says Sam in the trailer. “I have a darkness inside of me. It followed me here and it’s going to keep coming for us.”
The masked assassin is also seen charging into a crowded local bodega, inflicting violence on others who get in his way. When the group formulates a plan of retaliation, the chase spreads to other areas of the city, including the subway, old apartments, alleyways, and enigmatic underground shrines.
Also returning is Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, who has been an important character since the first Scream film from 1995, and is seen in the trailer in a heart-pounding fight scene as she and Ghostface square off. In the end, the trailer teases a full-on brawl between a new cast of characters and Scream V’s returning cast.
Directed by Scream V directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the upcoming slasher sequel premieres in theaters on March 10. Check out the full Scream VI official trailer below.
