Returnal PC Port Arrives February 15

The long awaited Returnal PC port finally comes to master race

Announced at The Game Awards, the Returnal PC port is scheduled to arrive to the personal computer next month on February 15. With the inclusion of Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR, PC gamers will finally be able to enjoy the world of Atropos.

The Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR features allow for higher frames per second without highly impacting resolution. Nvidia NIS is another added feature which increases performance, and is used by those who don’t have the hardware to support DLSS or FSR.

The Returnal PC port supports Nvidia’s ray tracing reflections along with ray-traced shadows, thanks to the help of Climax Studios who worked on the port. As a result, the contrast between a dark, dank environment and the colorful neon bullets will stand out even more. Two new wide resolution formats, Ultrawide at 21:9 and Super Ultrawide at 32:9, will be available.

Other, more sonic features include Dolby Atmos, two 3D audio solutions, and both 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound. There’s also custom ray-traced audio that allows for even more immersion. If you’re one of the lucky ones who purchased a Dualsense controller on sale this past holiday season, DualSense will also be supported on the PC version of the game.

PC gamers will need a Nvidia RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT along with an Intel i7-9700K or Ryzen 7 3700X to play Returnal at 4K resolution and a steady 60 frames per second. More hardcore gamers will require a RTX 3080 Ti or Radeon RX 6950 XT with an Intel i9-11900K or Ryzen 9 5900X to support ray tracing at 4K 60 frames per second.

A new trailer for the Returnal PC port has also been released by Sony, showcasing the game running in 4K with the latest features. Check it out below!
