This weekend, you’re either playing Resident Evil 4 Remake…or bingo
Leon, villagers, and orges, oh my, Resident Evil 4 Remake is coming out on March 24 and the world will finally be able to experience the long awaited remake of one of the most highly praised video games in history. Yes, that’s right, RE4 Remake launches tomorrow! With modernized visuals and combat thanks to Capcom’s impressive RE Engine, Resident Evil 4 and the village of Valdelobos looks better than ever.
The Resident Evil 4 Remake appears to be both incredibly true to the original and flexible enough to make the necessary adjustments onto next-gen tech. The wonky aiming mechanics of 2005’s RE4 have been updated so that Leon Kennedy, the game’s protagonist, can freely aim while walking. Leon can also now crouch, allowing the gameplay to be more stealth-like.
Long gone are the dated quick time events, and new execution features have been introduced along with a welcomed parry system which allows Leon to block melee and projectile attacks from the enemies. On top of this, new weapons, enemy types, and side quests have been added to the game.
Another great feature added to the Resident Evil 4 Remake is the addition of charms within the game’s inventory. Each charm provides an increase of crafting ammo and health recovery, or a discount on shop items sold by the infamous Merchant. “What are you buyin’?”
Likely to become a contender for game of the year, we would like to personally thank Capcom for providing fans a new way to enjoy one of the best games ever created.
RE4 Remake launches on PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X/S at midnight on March 24. Check out the game in action featuring the RE Engine in the trailer below.
