The Nike Zoom Freak 5 Keep It A Buck colorway is donned In red, green and gold
Milwaukee Bucks superstar and NBA champion Giannis Antetokounmpo has unveiled the Keep It A Buck colorway for his Nike Zoom Freak 5 basketball shoes. After months of anticipation, the shoes will finally drop on July 21.
The Nike Zoom Freak 5 model differs from its predecessors in that it does not have the backward Swoosh that was present in practically every shoe before it. In its place, a Swoosh twice as large is located directly between the upper and midsole. The absence of the Air Unit on the sole gives the silhouette a much more streamlined appearance.
The Keep It A Buck colorway sports a gym red and shiny gold palette. A tri-colored outsole finishes the look, which is completed with a deep green heel, tongue, and center of the upper. In our opinion, it looks like it’s almost themed after Italian luxury fashion house Gucci, but we all know that wouldn’t be Giannis’ intention.
An intricate pattern woven into a combination of leather and mesh-like material is found on the upper. The leather component’s toe portion exhibits a complex quilted stitching design. The Freak 5 also introduces a herringbone traction pattern for the rubber outsole and retains the signature oversized reverse Swoosh on the inner side of the sole coupling, a hallmark of the Zoom Freak lineage.
Finally, a the Keep It A Buck colorway will arrive in a unique shoe box specifically created for the release, which is expected to launch via Nike in the upcoming months at a cost of $140.
The Greek Freak is on contract with the Milwaukee Bucks through the 2024–2025 season, so it’s likely the superstar will be keeping it a buck for the next two years.
