Bandai Namco announces a new Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi game
This week, Dragon Ball fans were surprised to hear that a brand new Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi game was announced by Toei Animation and Bandai Namco. Though it’s not yet officially named, the long awaited new Budokai Tenkaichi sequel was revealed alongside an official trailer.
The official trailer doesn’t give away many specifics, but it does show a TV playing Dragon Ball Z clips before switching to Goku transforming to Super Saiyan Blue. After that, the phrases “get ready for battle” and “a new Budokai Tenkaichi begins” emerge.
Considering that the first three games in the Budokai series were released back in 2005, 2006, and 2007, the new Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi game would be the series’ first new release in over 13 years. The most recent game was Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team, which was released in 2010 on the Sony PSP.
Many DBZ fans have been anticipating a sequel to 2018’s Dragon Ball FighterZ versus fighting game, but the next Budokai Tenkaichi sequel has nevertheless sparked a substantial amount of excitement. The Budokai Tenkaichi series is renowned for its fun gameplay and large cast of combatants, and this new installment should feature improved graphics and possibly some new mechanics.
We can only ponder what new characters will be appearing in the upcoming sequel. Android 21, Towa, and Mira would be great additions. Hit also seems like a must add since he’s a fan favorite from the Dragon Ball Super series. Fingers crossed Bandai Namco drops a release date sooner than later.
