Get Ready For The Marvel Rivals Launch

Watch the “Til The End” Marvel Rivals launch trailer below!

The upcoming Marvel Rivals launch is one of the most highly anticipated game launches this year. The third-person hero shooter is developed and published by NetEase Games, who have collaborated with Marvel Games, and is available on December 6 across all main platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC.

If you weren’t already hyped enough, the recent Marvel Rivals launch trailer showcases the game’s final roster, which includes a whopping 33 characters! Black Widow, Cloak and Dagger, Iron Fist, Squirrel Girl, and Wolverine can be seen in the Til The End trailer, as well as the previously announced heroes such as Psylocke, Captain America, and Hawkeye.

Players can choose a variety of options of play, including clawing down opponents as Wolverine, shielding their team as Doctor Strange, or healing their allies as Luna Snow, just to name a few. It’s quite amazing how much is offered during the Marvel Rivals launch. This might go down as one of the biggest and most successful game launches in history, barring any kind of crashes or bugs that may occur on day one.

“When it comes to designing characters in our game, we usually dive really deep into the background and personality of each Marvel character, so every character’s gameplay mechanic and skill is really crafted to reflect who these heroes really are in the comics,” said Guanyun Chen, creative director of Marvel Rivals.

Those familiar with Blizzard’s first-person hero shooter Overwatch will feel right at home when they pick up and play Marvel Rivals. Although in a third-person camera perspective, NetEase has developed the gameplay to be very similar to what we’ve experienced in both Overwatch and Overwatch 2. Marvel Rivals offers a 6v6 PVP matchmaking across four different modes, including Convoy, Domination, Convergence, and Conquest.

Convoy is similar to Overwatch’s escort maps, where the objective is to escort a cart throughout the map, or defend it from reaching the end location. Domination features the “capture the point” objective we’ve grown to love from the Call of Duty and Halo franchise. The goal of Convergence is almost a mixture of the two but excluding any kind of escort. The objective is to capture one checkpoint, and then move through the map to capture two more points.

Last but not least is Conquest mode, which is similar to COD’s “Kill Confirmed” mode. Opponents and teammates will drop gems as they are defeated. First team to collect 50 gems wins. Seems like Moon Knight will have a field day here with his Ankhs!
