Logitech G303 Shroud Edition Reveal

Logitech and Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek team up for Logitech G303 Shroud Edition reveal

The previously discontinued Logitech G303 wired computer gaming mouse has officially been “remastered”, as the Logitech G303 Shroud Edition reveal this Tuesday afternoon showcased the original G303 encapsulated into its new wireless form. This would be Logitech’s second offering of a “Shroud Edition” for their gaming mice, although today’s announcement of the wireless version of the G303 is far more relevant.

By now we should all be familiar with Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, the former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player and currently one of the most watched video game streamers of all time. He was an avid fan of the original Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex mouse since its release in 2015 and even after its discontinuation in 2017. The original G303 is a wired gaming mouse that features a unique diamond shape, the PMW3366 optical sensor, customizable RGB lighting, and weighs-in at 104 grams with the cable.

The Logitech G303 Shroud Edition retains a majority of the original G303 design, but it is now wireless and much lighter weighing at 75 grams. There is no RGB lighting which will allow the battery life to last up to 145 hours. The G303 Shroud Edition also features Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED technology for low-latency performance along with Logitech’s proprietary HERO 25K optical sensor.

Priced at $129.99, Shroud’s custom-designed version of the G303 has a black top shell with smokey, translucent sides. In comparison to the original G303, the Shroud Edition is 2 millimeters longer, 4mm wider, and 3mm taller than its predecessor. As all wireless mice post-2020 should, it utilizes USB-C for charging and includes a wireless USB receiver dongle and a receiver extension adapter. According to Logitech’s website, the package contents also contain an “optional grip tape”, a nice addition for the sweaty.

When Logitech discontinued the original G303, Shroud continued to stand by his favorite gaming mice. It wasn’t until 2020 when Shroud signed on as an official Logitech G brand ambassador, joining an exclusive group of creators who only use Logitech G gear, and switched his main mouse to the G Pro Wireless, Logitech’s flagship gaming mouse. Shown behind the scenes in the promo for the Logitech G303 Shroud Edition reveal, Shroud has worked with the Logitech team to bring back a wireless remastered and reconstructed variant of the cult-classic G303.

In what will become a welcomed addition to the Logitech family, the new wireless G303 is available now and fills a niche in the pc gaming community. Many have asked for this update for a long time, and the Logitech G303 Shroud Edition reveal has fulfilled the dreams of those who have been looking for a wireless version of the discontinued mouse. As for some others, like myself, Logitech’s announcement today only increases the anticipation for the G703 SUPERLIGHT.
