PUMA x Rick and Morty MB.01 will release in February
Charlotte Hornets guard and previous Rookie of the Year winner LaMelo Ball is adding the PUMA x Rick and Morty MB.01 collaboration to the list of colorways of his signature MB.01 shoe. In a crossover with Rick and Morty, the animated sci-fi comedy on Adult Swim, the bright neon palettes of the new pair follows the “Buzz City” Hornets colorway releasing in the same month.
The PUMA x Rick and Morty MB.01 has officially labeled its colors as “Jasmine Green/Nrgy Rose”. The left shoe is covered in bright neon green while the right is in a bold magenta. Respectively, these hues seem as if they’re from another galaxy filled with neon ooze and volcanic lava, but it’s most likely representative of Rick’s portal gun and his daughter Beth.
Both Rick and Morty’s faces can be found printed inside on the tongues, while the front side holds LaMelo Ball’s signature logo. Branding of the show is also found within the inner soles of the PUMA x Rick and Morty MB01, with “Rick and Morty” stamps and intergalactic portal on the lace unit.
This isn’t the Rick and Morty’s first collaboration in the NBA world. Aside from LaMelo Ball, they’ve worked on custom footwear worn by Karl Anthony-Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Jaxon Hayes of the New Orleans Pelicans. They have also collaborated with Diadora in a 2018 collection.
Officially announced to release on Friday, February 18 at the Puma NYC Flagship store, Foot Locker stores, and on the Puma website, the PUMA x Rick and Morty MB01 will retail for $135 and launch alongside a six-piece apparel collection.
