The Halo Infinite Tactical Ops event brings in new cosmetics and a new mode
A brand new Halo Infinite Tactical Ops event has gone live in 343 Industries’ newest entry to the Halo franchise. Like the previous events in Halo Infinite, players will be able to unlock cosmetics by completing in-game challenges. There’s also a new Tactical Ops playlist that is based on the Tactical Slayer mode, which removes the player’s radar, overshields, and frag grenades.
Each game of Tactical Ops has a different weapon set for all players, kind of like a gun game mode but exclusive to one gun. The one hit headshot makes crosshair placement a major focus in this mode. This can be difficult for some but it definitely makes certain weapons more fun to use, such as the Manglers, Commandos, and Stalker Rifles. The BR, Mangler, and Sidekick will be in rotation for the first week, Commando and Stalker Rifles will be added to the mix in week two.
Players have until March 22 at 10 AM PT to participate in the Halo Infinite Tactical Ops event, with 10 challenges to complete in order to achieve the limited-time cosmetics. They’ll show up in a random order, so make sure to complete them as soon as they appear in your challenge log. Here’s the list of all event specific challenges:
- Complete Tactical Slayer matches (1)
- Earn distinct killing sprees in Tactical Slayer (1)
- Kill enemy Spartans with a headshot in Tactical Slayer (7)
- Kill enemy Spartans with a headshot in Tactical Slayer (25)
- Kill enemy Spartans with the Battle Rifle in Tactical Slayer (7)
- Kill enemy Spartans with the Sidekick Pistol in Tactical Slayer (10)
- Kill two enemy Spartans in rapid succession in Tactical Slayer (7)
- Stop enemy killing sprees in Tactical Slayer (1)
- Stop enemy killing sprees in Tactical Slayer (3)
- Win Tactical Slayer matches (2)
The grind won’t be for nothing. Finishing the event will unlock some nice looking Spartan armor such as the new Mark VII set and its black/red colorway, the Scorpion Punch coating. Below are all of the 10 unlockable cosmetics from the Halo Infinite Tactical Ops event.
