GoldenEye 007 Re-Release Launches On Both Xbox and Switch Tomorrow

After almost 25 years, the GoldenEye 007 re-release has arrived

Greetings 00 Agent, are you ready for the GoldenEye 007 re-release? We’re not talking about the sub-par GoldenEye remake from 2010, nor the GoldenEye 007: Reloaded game from 2011. This is the legendary Rare-developed GoldenEye from 1997 that launched on the Nintendo 64, and it’s finally available on both Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles.

Bond fans will be thrilled to know that one of the most successful and impactful video games of all time is coming back with modern enhancements. Here’s all the information you need, including the release date, supported platforms, and multiplayer features.

Either you’re sitting in Team Green or Team Red, the GoldenEye 007 re-release has something in store for both. Xbox One and Series S/X owners will be able to enjoy the remastered version of the game via Xbox Game Pass in 4K resolution, smooth frame rates, and split-screen multiplayer. As for Switch owners, the game will debut on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service and will exclusively feature online multiplayer.

What a bummer for Team Green, but if you already own a digital copy of Rare Replay, then you’ll be able to access the GoldenEye re-release for free and without a Xbox Game Pass subscription. That’s a big plus as Nintendo’s Expansion Pack subscription is a tier higher than their base online sub.

Additional features for the GoldenEye re-release on the Nintendo Switch will include compatibility with the official wireless Nintendo 64 controller.

The GoldenEye 007 re-release is available tomorrow, January 26 on Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch.
