Check out the Fatal Fury City Of The Wolves trailer below!
The very first footage of the newly announced Fatal Fury City of the Wolves fighting game has debuted at this year’s Evolution Championship Series in Las Vegas. The new trailer for the game previously known as Garou 2 showcases Rock Howard and Terry Bogard while teasing other characters including Marco, Billy Kane, Mai Shiranui, and more.
Also shown to us were Geese Tower, National Park, South Town Airport, Live House “Old Line”, and Factory, which are some of the stages the characters of FF City of the Wolves will engage in combat. Voices for Marco, Billy, Mai, and Andy can be heard in its introduction.
The Fatal Fury series, also referred to as the Garou series, debuted back in 1991 on the Neo Geo with Fatal Fury: King of Fighters. The final installment was Garou: Mark of the Wolves in 1999, however many of the franchise’s characters, notably Terry, Andy Bogard, and Joe Higashi, have appeared in SNK’s King of Fighters series.
Although the game’s platforms and release date for FF City Of The Wolves was not confirmed at EVO 2023, developer SNK did mention that the game is currently “furiously in development”. In this new generation of games, it pays off to do things the right way and not rush launch. SNK can take as long as they need here.
The launch of FFCOTW / Garou 2 will mark the first Fatal Fury in 24 years and brings the new 3D style of the recent KOF game to one of the most important franchises in gaming history. We’re expecting the game to release sometime next year in Q2.
