Everything We Know From The Call Of Duty Next Showcase

Activision and Infinity Ward present the Call of Duty Next showcase

Stay frosty — new details about Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty Warzone 2 were revealed by Activision and Infinity Ward at the Call of Duty Next showcase. Let’s check out some of the biggest and most intriguing announcements we discovered, including a new map for Warzone, new modes for Modern Warfare II, and the MWII Beta.

Call of Duty Warzone 2

Call of Duty Warzone 2, which will debut on November 16, 2022, was made official at the Call of Duty Next showcase and will be free-to-play just like the original Warzone game. A significant development in the CoD battle royale universe, it’s being developed with an emphasis on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X hardware, as well as availability on the PS4 and Xbox One. Activision is officially naming the sequel as Call of Duty Warzone 2.0, and it’s scheduled to launch with a new “Al Mazrah” desert map.

Modern Warfare II

The fan favorite Spec Ops mode is back in Modern Warfare II, featuring co-op play through mission objectives. Scheduled to go live on October 28, it’ll also include raids, three-player missions, and third person online matches — something we haven’t seen since the original Modern Warfare II from 2009. The upcoming MWII beta will go live on September 16 for all PlayStation owners who have pre-ordered the game. An open MWII beta will be available on September 18 for PlayStation solely, then platform-wide on September 24.

Warzone Mobile

A new trailer for the mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone was unveiled, showing familiar locations from the original game, along with cross-progression with PC and console versions. Warzone Mobile has been confirmed to be a standalone game and not a port.

As confirmed in the Call of Duty Next showcase, Modern Warfare II will release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 28. Warzone 2 is out November 16.
