Apex Legends Season 13 Saviors Is Live

New legend Newcastle, ranked changes, and map updates featured in Apex Legends Season 13 Saviors

Following its third anniversary event, Apex Legends Season 13 Saviors has now launched across all platforms and features a ton of updates. This might be the season where Respawn’s super successful battle royale finally sees a change in gameplay on all levels.

Apex Legends Season 13 Saviors introduces the heroic defender Newcastle, a new defensive legend and the brother to Bangalore. His kit includes a mobile shield tactical, an ally revival shield passive, and an ultimate that allows him to leap, slam down, and build a wall for cover. Previously, Gibraltar has been the mandatory pick in high level play, but the Newcastle meta is just around the corner.

Newcastle ability list:

Mobile Shield (Tactical Ability)
Throw a controllable mobile energy shield.

Retrieve the Wounded (Passive Ability)
Drag downed allies while reviving and shielding them with the Revive Shield.

Castle Wall (Ultimate Ability)
Leap and slam down toward an ally or target, forming a fortified fortress.

There’s been an overhaul of ranked changes in Apex Legends Season 13 Saviors. The rework revamps the ranked experience by emphasizing teamwork and better assessing and rewarding skills. Players can become demoted into a lower rank if they don’t place top 10 in three consecutive matches following their rank up match. Ranked points (RP) entry costs have been adjusted on each tier, with different kill points (KP) values depending on match placements. There’s a lot going on here so check out the full details on the Apex Legends blog post here.

The Storm Point map is now updated with new points of interest (POI), including the Down Beast, a washed-up carcass of some sort of Kaiju monster. Players will be able to fight around, on top of, and even inside the beast, where high-tier loot will be found. IMC Armories have also been added around the map that allows players to shoot down waves of enemy Spectres. The more Spectres annihilated within the 60 seconds, the better the loot.

As the new season arrives, these significant changes will hopefully keep players clear minded and locked in with the game’s new content. Check out the full list of updates on the Apex Legends Season 13 Saviors patch notes.
