Iron sharpens iron as the Adidas AE 1 Low Iron Metallic drops on Black Friday
Launching the day after Thanksgiving, the Adidas AE 1 Low Iron Metallic is the newest colorway of the beloved signature silhouette of the Minnesota Timberwolves superstar. This low top iteration of the original high-top AE 1 keeps a similar design to the OG while maintaining its performance features.
The AE 1 Low Iron Metallic “Iron Sharpens Iron” version features a chrome-like silver mesh panel, a black mesh top, and a purple-coated TPU supporting wing. The colorway is finished with a bright orange heel and a grey midsole. We’ve got the admit that out of all the AE 1 colorways including the high tops, the Iron Metallics are one of the best, if not the best, variations that we have seen to date.
This is mainly due to the iconic honeycomb mesh top that is colored in silver but also features an iridescent finish that reflects pink, blue, and purple hues. The multicolors have a similar sheen to how the debut core black / carbon / lucid lemon colorway looked.
The tongue tab, the sole indentations, and the three-stripes logo that rests on top of the carbon fiber heel counter all have subtle hints of “Solar Orange.” Against the monotone black collar, laces, and eyestays, the pair’s color quality is still prominent throughout the sneaker. One gripe that we wish The Brand With Three Stripes fixed on the low tops is how gigantic the adidas logo is on the back heel. It is safe to say that some do like the look, so to each their own.
