The Long Awaited Air Jordan 38 Basketball Shoe Is Official

Jordan Brand unveils the Air Jordan 38 basketball shoe

Following 2022’s release of the AJ37, the Air Jordan 38 basketball shoe will be making its debut this fall season, starting with the “Fundamental” colorway. Two more color variants has also just been revealed.

The Nike design team created the style from the ground up based on Michael Jordan’s famous turnaround fadeaway, giving the Air Jordan 38 basketball shoe a new X-Plate solution that’s rooted in court mobility and space creation.

The Air Jordan 8’s straps served as inspiration for the new X-Plate solution. The AJ38 is a Tier 2 silhouette that was produced with at least 20% recycled material by weight, which is particularly noticeable in the marbled tongue formed from used sock liners.

There’s some intricate details here. The backless forefoot introduces embroidered technology, while additional threaded detailing pays homage to Jordan’s legendary 1993 campaign with 41 crosshatches consuming the collar in honor of his average of 41 points per game during the Finals.

Three diamonds placed along the medial represent the third franchise championship for the Chicago Bulls. The distinctive cushioning technology replaces the Formula23 Foam it previously used underfoot with a full-length Zoom Strobel and Cushlon 3.0 wedge combination. A radial herringbone traction pattern and the X-Plate fill the bottom half.
