The Rui Hachimura Air Jordan 36 Sakura colorway pays homage to the NBA power forward’s roots
With the Washington Wizards power forward Rui Hachimura already delivering a number of Jordans in 2022, he now brings us the Air Jordan 36 Sakura colorway paying tribute to his Japanese heritage.
The country’s Japanese cranes, also known as the bird of happiness and good luck, decorates the midfoot with red, pink, and green in an embroidered finish while the cherry blossom floral textile fills the midfoot. The overall color scheme of this variant features Black and Red with Metallic Gold accents. Japanese blossoms also adorn the upper of the Rui Hachimura Air Jordan 36 Sakura colorway.
Underfoot, we see a black suede collar and a Mint semi-translucent tread on the outsole. Golden eyelets and a suede lace fastener serve as premium elements throughout the sneaker, while hints of alloy colors appear on the inner tongue. The tongues display Japanese Kanji characters of Hachimura’s personal logo underneath along with its heel tabs where it adorns the classic Nike logo.
There’s also regal branding done on top of the laces that’s divided into Jordan insignias on the right shoe and Hachimura’s mark on the left. To complete the design, customized packaging will house the sneakers.
For $200, the Rui Hachimura Air Jordan 36 Sakura colorway is amongst some of the best we’ve seen for this silhouette. These sneakers haven’t yet been given a release date, but they’re expected to arrive on Nike.com and select retailers sometime before the 2022 year is over with. Take a closer look at the sneakers in the official photos below.
