We first received an early preview on the Adidas Stan Smith Homer Simpson sneakers last October, but now we get an official look at the pair that’s inspired by the hilarious GIF that has become an iconic meme. This fuzzy ode to the Homer meme will be one for the books.
The Adidas Stan Smith Homer Simpson silhouette is presented in a straightforward but humorous way, sporting a classic white, off-white, and green color scheme with nods to the legendary The Simpsons cartoon series. A fuzzy heel tab depicting Homer Simpson hidden by a hedge alludes to the classic reaction GIF and meme format of him slowly backing into the bushes.
The white leather upper also has a portrait of Homer on the tongue, a custom Simpsons themed sockliner, and gold “Homer Simpson” text at the lateral. These shoes also come packaged in a unique box honoring the meme. Adidas’ triple stripes are also depicted as being a part of the vegetation that Homer hides in.
If you didn’t know already, the Adidas Stan Smith Homer Simpson sneakers are the second Stan Smith model to take design cues from the cartoon. Marge, the wife of Homer, received her own unique shoe last year.
Without a question, the Homer variant in the Simpsons x Adidas collection will be a fan favorite and perhaps the most sought after. For those looking to cop a pair, the shoes will release on the Adidas online store for $130 on August 13.
